What does each scholarship include?

Each winning institution will choose a student to receive:

  • One additional class per day, 10 hours in total, covering culture and current events in the student's chosen destination.
  • All enrolment fees.
  • Accommodation during the 2 week course (in Spain or Mexico). Single room accommodation in a shared student flat or with a host family, at the student's choice.
  • Students may use their scholarships at any time during 2007 and may study at any don Quijote school.
Additionally, the 20 scholarship recipients will enjoy the included services and benefits available to every don Quijote student, with the aim to help them integrate into local life, explore local culture and focus their energies on a truly "immersive" learning experience:
  • 24-hour emergency phone line.
  • Cultural adaptation and professional guidance adviser.
  • Free personal pick-up service from bus or train station on their arrival, and transport to their accommodation, every Sunday for all don Quijote schools.
  • Welcome dinner with students and teachers on their first day of class.
  • A city tour.
  • A don Quijote student card, with discounts on local restaurants, gymnasiums, photo shops and other services.
  • Folder containing a map of the city, workbook and more...
  • Access to reading and reference books, videos, personal stereo, music tapes and tennis rackets.
  • A thorough oral and written Spanish level test, as well as personal copies of study material and textbooks appropriate for their level.
  • Participation in don Quijote school activities: Hispanic song and dance classes, movies, etc.
  • Use of school resources: library, computer room with free internet access, free use of don Quijote’s online course in the school, digital camera and scanner, etc.
  • And on satisfactory participation in the course, a certificate of completion, listing the student's level of Spanish, the duration of the course and the hours of study completed.
  • In short, the experience of a lifetime.
