Spain is a country rich in art and history, much of which can be discovered in the various prestigious museums in Spain. One of the most famous museums in Spain and most renowned Spanish museum is the Prado Museum in Madrid, where visitors can view masterpieces like the Las Meninas painting by Spanish painter Diego Velázquez. Other important art museums in Madrid include the Reina Sofia Museum and Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum where you can admire Picasso masterpieces and other famous Spanish artwork.
While the museums in Madrid are undoubtedly the most well known, there are many other museums in Spain that are equally important. There are many Spanish museums throughout the county where visitors can admire Spanish sculptures in Valladolid, Picasso collections in Malaga and Salvador Dalí in Figueres. The Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao is also an excellent and well known Spanish museum.
All of the Spanish museums form part of Spanish art history and the cultural heritage of the country. Spanish art continues to grow and expand as new talent is discovered through modern art and Spanish artists are becoming well known in art galleries around the world.
