Alicante becomes the summer with 66 "blue flag", the highest amount in Spain Bluer than ever. It is not the new tourist slogan of Alicante, but it does define the circumstances in which this year faces the high tourist season having become the Spanish province that most "blue flags" received yesterday from the European Association of Environmental Education. The province received a total of 66 -55 beaches and 11 marinas and leads, alone, the national classification, which until this year shared with La Coruña and Pontevedra, both in Galicia, which is the community that has more flags.

The beaches of Calpe (Alicante) (Until August 31)

This heat makes us think of refreshing baths, so we go to the beach. Calpe is one of the most popular destinations on the Costa Blanca, and much of it is the quality of its beaches and waters. The beaches of Calpe in Alicante can boast blue flag, and also placed next to one of the most recognizable profiles of the coast that can not fail to visit the Rock of Ifach. With the Rock as a reference, Calpe has an attractive and varied coastline, from small rocky coves to sandy beaches, and a common point crystal clear waters. Emphasize its Blue Flag beaches, the Arenal-Boll, the La Fossa (or Lift) and the Cantal Roig.

400,000 people visited the fair of Corpus Granada (Until June 19)

Granada City Council took stock “positive” Corpus Fair, which concluded yesterday and has recorded 400,000 visitors in the neighborhood Almanjáyar, up 15 percent over the same holiday last year. This was informed the council of the Presidency, Major Festivals and Tourism, Rocío Dí;az, who stressed that the corpus has been “exemplary” in the absence of major incidents and it is fair “for a while” face of criticism by the municipal opposition, which believes that the current model of fiesta would be “exhausted.” Last Wednesday night, the eve of local holiday was the busiest day of the exhibition, which these days have done in urban transport about 66,000 people.

The Carambolo Treasury will return to Camas, the population where it was found, symbolically and temporarily. The local council prepares for next year an exhibition with the replica of this set of jewelry. The discovery will star in a temporary exhibition, scheduled from January to June, but for the moment is not sure that the treasure is exposed permanently in Camas while Sevilla’s Archaeological Museum shows the original. “A treasure, even a replica, must be in a museum, and that would be a long term project” says Councilman Perez, head of culture. With Historical background as Tartessos and Phoenicians -trail that can not be seen in the Carambolo Hill, where a concrete slab protects the site where the archaeological elements were founded- Camas intended that this treasure will become an identity element, that makes people feel a sense of belonging to the locality.

The City of Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz) devoted to Tio Pepe the access road to the city from the airport. Maria Jose Garcia-Pelayo, mayor of Jerez, believes that Tio Pepe is one of the symbols “best known and loved in the city” and therefore “deserves a privileged place at the entrance to the city that has many years promoting” “We will dedicate this avenue emblematic of the city such as Tio Pepe Jerez ambassador in the world, and which now more than ever deserves our support and recognition”, he assured the mayor of Jerez, who stressed advocacy and dissemination “of our wines” developed by Gonzalez Byass in its 175 year history, “a track that has become emblematic of the local winemaking industry”.

The eve of San Juan (June 23) is a magical night in many places, but particularly in the Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife. That night bonfires burn in all old items that no longer serve. Beach Garden, near the Castle of San Felipe, becomes a concentration of thousands of people gather to celebrate the ancient festival of the shortest night of the year. The next morning, the shepherds of the Orotava Valley down with their herds of goats to purify in a bath in the harbor of the city, a show that surprises and amazes locals and visitors.
