The door way to Mexico:
This is an old mining city that was born of a stream, a silver-bearing fancy from the depths of its earth. Jewel of Guanajuato:
The city of Acámbaro was founded on the 22nd of October, 1810. Its architectural heritage is extensive, original and of great value. Strolling and admiring its squares is a marvellous experience. The monumental construction of the Stone Bridge consists of nine arches and is in an elegant, neoclassical style.

The Golden Gate of El Bajío:
An important city for business, this was the birthplace of one of Mexico’s most important artists in neoclassical architecture. An exquisite example of his work is the Church of Carmen. This city has important buildings that are worth seeing, such as the Convent of San Francisco built in the 17th century and the church of San Francisco of 1683. The city boasts altars made by Tresguerras, and the Agustinian Cloister, a construction of the 17th century.

San Miguel de Allende is located one hour from Guanajuato, a jewel of the colony founded in 1542.
