Saga
Although this word means "relato" (tale), "leyenda" (legend), it is sometimes incorrectly employed in place of "linaje" or "familia".
Ejemplo:
Me gusta leer las sagas nórdicas.
La familia de Alba tiene un antiguo linaje.

Saludar
Should not be used in the sense of "receive with satisfaction".
Ejemplo:
El gobierno saludó las nuevas medidas económicas de la Unión Europea. This is incorrect.
We should say: El gobierno acogió con satisfacción las nuevas medidas económicas.

Salvar
We should not use this verb to express the English meaning of "grabar" (record, save).
Ejemplo:
He perdido los datos porque el ordenador no los salvó. Incorrect. We should say: "... no los grabó".

Scanner, escanner, escáner
The form recognized by the Royal Academy is escáner.
Ejemplo:
He comprado un escáner.

Sefardita
The correct form in Spanish is sefardí and the plural is sefardíes.
Ejemplo:
He comprado un libro de poemas sefardíes.

Sí / si
Sí with an accent is used as the affirmative particle.
Si without an accent is used in conditional expressions.
Ejemplo:
– ¿Has traído el coche? – Sí, claro, si quieres te llevo.

Si valdría…
The conditional form of verbs cannont used with "si" in conditional expressions. The correct forms are the imperfect subjunctive or pluperfect subjunctive.
Ejemplo:
Si valiera menos lo compraría.
Si hubiera valido menos lo habría comprado.
