TEACHERS AND THE TEACHING METHOD
All the teachers are selected on the basis of academic qualifications obtained during their university years. In addition to being graduates in their fields, they have received special training and preparation for giving Spanish classes to foreign students. The teachers explain clearly, theoretical concepts and put them into practice, using situations of real everyday communication. Their capacity to create a comfortable, stimulating atmosphere in class is also very important. They consistently organise their lessons with a practical slant to lead you into the sort of conversation that takes place in daily life.
ACCOMMODATION
You can choose between a single or double room in a student flat or with a family. The flats and family homes are always close to the school and the beach. On average they are 5 to 10 minutes walk from the school. For accommodations with Spanish families, you can choose between half board (room, breakfast and lunch) or full board, which also includes supper. Whichever you choose, it will also apply at weekends. In a student flat you share housing with 3 or 4 other students from the school. You have a common sitting room where you can get together or watch television, a kitchen for preparing meals and bathroom/s. This means that you will be living with people from other countries and will have to try to speak Spanish.
ACTIVITIES AND EXCURSIONS
The school organises all sorts of activities including, for example, excursions to Valencia, Elche, and Palma de Mallorca. These excursions are not included in the price of the course. There are some parties, such as the welcome party, parties on the beach with a barbecue, Spanish cooking class, outings to the centre for tapas and many other activities.
Sports activities such as tennis and volleyball tournaments are organised, and you can also do horse riding, and cycling. The programme of activities also includes showing films in the afternoons.
If you want to combine sun, sea, temperament and folklore with studying Spanish, then Alicante is the ideal choice. You are located in a residential area so there is plenty of opportunity to meet the locals and Spanish tourists. Studying in Alicante is more than just a beach holiday. It is an experience you will treasure for a long time.
