The town of Elche is located in the Valencian Autonomous Community, 200 kms. south of Valencia and 20 kms. from Alicante. Elche is the main city of the Baix Vinalopó.district which measures 325.5 sq Kms. Population is almost 200.000 of which 20.000 live in the country.

Tabarca Island

The Island de Tabarca is 2 km long and lies about 11 sea miles off the coast, south of Alicante. One of the reasons why it is considered to be an ideal place for spending your holiday, is the perfectly clear water you can find in the various bays.

A seaside town lying to the south of the Valencian Community, is surrounded by two large and beautiful natural salt-water lagoons, the Lagunas de La Mata y Torrevieja, which occupy more than half the municipal district. Declared a natural reserve, they are considered Europe's largest salt-producing lakes.

Santa Pola

This has an altitude of 140m, which in the province of Alicante on the Mediterranean coast is high enough to command a panoramic view over the sea, and also to protect the town of Santa Polo from the easterly winds.
