Discover Seville

Seville is the ruffled polka-dot dress, the clacking of heels on cobblestone, the sweet scent of azahar wafting from orange trees: it is the brightly colored and fiercely proud capital of Andalusia. Southern Spain’s distinctive charm seeps from the incredible architecture found throughout the city, the Guadalquivir River, the stunning Plaza de España and out of the city’s diverse neighborhoods. Seville is a city that will pull you into Spanish with the lively heat and energy of its people, proud of their past and traditions. It is a place where you can still see horse-drawn carriages and be awestruck by the intricate Arabic architecture and carvings found throughout the city; where the wailing saetas of Semana Santa and the solemn processions will inspire you to learn Spanish; and where the joyous, flowery Feria de Abril will teach you about southern Spain in a whole new way.

Our school

Students will walk out the door of our Spanish school in Seville and into the beating heart of the city. At the school, students will have access to all of the best Spanish language learning resources: teachers with years of experience who work to inspire their students, as well a comfortable learning environment found in a beautiful early 20th century Andalusian modernist house. The school also includes a large central patio and terrace so that students can enjoy Seville’s sunny weather, 14 classrooms, a multimedia room, library and access to Wi-Fi throughout the school. Upon leaving class, students will find themselves close to the historic Plaza de Toros, the breathtaking Cathedral and Giralda, and within walking distance of the rest of the city’s incredible sights like the Real Alcázar de Sevilla, Parque de María Luisa and the University of Seville, formerly the famous Royal Tobacco Factory.

What we love about Seville

We love that Seville is a city where you will feel completely immersed in profound, traditional and authentic Spanish culture, and at the same time will discover a modern city filled with inspiring new ideas. We love the old-world charm of horse-drawn carriages and traditional dress during the city’s incredible festivals (or any time of year). The passion of the people celebrating their culture is completely contagious, and will have you falling in love with Spanish over and over again. We love that it is a city that may just include all of the things most typically thought of as Spanish (an incredible Cathedral and Alcázar, passionate Flamenco, fantastic fiestas, typical tapas like gazpacho and tortilla de patatas, an unforgettable Plaza de España, beautiful palm trees, patios adorned with fragrant flowers and brightly ornate tiles, that golden sun-kissed light…). But Seville is also filled with surprises around every corner. We love that the sevillanos you meet will invite you to learn Spanish surrounded by their colorful Andalusian culture and that, if you’re lucky, you might stumble upon an impromptu Flamenco performance at a bar or party. Seville will fill you with so much light and color, you might never want to leave.

"My experience with the school was excellent right from my first contact. I had never been overseas before so was very nervous. The information I received from the school was first class and did much to put me at ease. All my questions about the schools, courses, accommodation and cities were answered promptly and thoroughly. I found the teachers at the school to be fantastic. They were extremely patient, friendly and very helpful. They clearly believed in and enjoyed what they were teaching. The administration team was also very helpful, patient and friendly and the excursions and extra classes were well organised and conducted by knowledgeable, friendly guides."

"The teachers at don Quijote are very good. I was placed in level C1 and felt that I was in the right class for my level of knowledge. We were five people from four different nationalities. I like meeting people from other cultures and enjoyed the class. I especially enjoyed the voluntary classes each evening and recommend that all students take part in them; they are of interest and fun. I would recommend don Quijote because they deliver as they promise, and because there are dQ schools in different places both in Spain and Latin America."

"I arrived in Spain only with a handful of words and a desire to be able to communicate well in Spanish. The teachers at don Quijote have made the learning process great fun and an unforgettable experience. My fellow students have enriched that experience too and I will take away many happy memories of my time in Granada."

"I love this place! I was in the school (the building is amazing!) for two weeks in october and enjoyed also the residence, a shared flat 5 minutes walking from the school, because it's a multiculti environment and... you have the neighbourhood of the university students 10 minutes walking! I met many people and now we're friends!"
